The students definitely brought their "A" game this year! They are working very hard and I really appreciate that. Make sure they are reading at least 30 minutes every night.

Me, Myself, & I

I have been teaching for 8 years. Before teaching I was a part of the business world for 30 plus years. I thought I would retire, but my beautiful wife of 24 years told me if I was going to spend the amount of money on golf that I was spending, that I would have to go to work!! I was invited to join the team here at Oak Ridge Elementary and the last 8 years have been the most rewarding of my working career!! Even I got this one right. My son, our pride and joy, is 18 and he is now a freshman at The University of Louisiana at Monroe. If you are a fan of Duck Dynasty, you will know of Monroe, La. I am a Resource and Dyslexia teacher, grades K - 4. Oh, one other small thing I am a big LSU fan. Geaux Tigers!!!

Each student needs to read for 30 minutes every night of the school week!!  I will not accept any excuses for the student not getting their reading homework done. It is to important for your child's development and success!!
Dyslexia students may use their reading practice sheets, that go home almost every night, for their 30 minutes of reading homework!!
